I've joined a new jazz dance class. It's every wednesday night, near a train station 3 stops from home. The class is held at a community center, so the class is quite cheap. This week wednesday, I went for the third time. There's the teacher Ito Sensei, and besides me, there are 4 other students--- two high school students and two other working adults. I'm Con chan in the class, cos Constance is way too long and quite a tongue twister to the Japanese (It's ko-n-su-ta-n-su...the people at church here have worked really hard at practising my name...), i don't like people calling me Chan san too, cos I just think it is so cold to be called Miss Chan even in dance class. (If you are interested in such things, my students in english class call me Constance or Sensei.)
Anyway, I am really enjoying the class... but it isn't the class per se that is enjoyable but I was just so happy when the teacher suggested that next wednesday, we could all go out and have a short welcome party for Miura san and me, who are new to the class. It's becoming part of a group... just as the joy of becoming really a member of my church is... Thank God that I am now a Member of this jazz dance class! Plus after class, I go home with Fusako chan...and THANK GOD FOR COURAGE!!! I managed to ask her if she was interested to come to the lute concert at church on 24 Dec 05. She sounds interested, please pray along with me that she will come for the evangelistic concert on 24 Dec 05. I will pass her the leaflet about it next wednesday. Pray for me!
as for the joy of becoming a member of my church here (not in the official sense but really as the gaining of the sense of belonging in this church)... the church people have put me on the service roster! But horrors of horrors, I am on kitchen duty in March! Help! I don't want to poison the church people!!... still, it should be fun!
Tonight... there is another class, my elementary class...but attendance is not good at this class, cos the members are working adults and students---it being incredibly cold now, it makes it harder for tired people after work and class to lug themselves up the very steep hill to class on a friday night! Dinner for me will be after class at about nine-ish... but it's all prepared..I cooked an ENORMOUS amount of curry this afternoon..the taste isn't too bad... so there is a hot dinner to (heat up) and look forward to, after class, which I can eat while watching the last episode of Hana yori dango, the newest japanese version of F4 (you know? the hit taiwanese drama a few years back.... Sorry I am so superficial...)
